Kreis 5: Industriequartier
Kreis 5 (Industriequartier) consists of the neighbourhoods of Gewerbeschule and Escher Wyss. In the Escher Wyss neighbourhood, the resident population has more than tripled since 2000 (Statistik Stadt Zürich) – a sign of the many new buildings of recent years.
In former commercial buildings and warehouses, in lofts and open-plan offices, a single wall unit is often not enough. We design the system according to cooling load and use – from multi-split to VRF systems with many indoor units.

Larger systems come with additional obligations, such as a maintenance logbook and leak checks for more than 3 kg of refrigerant. We point this out during planning.
In the Canton of Zurich, many air/water heat pumps can be installed under the notification procedure (placed indoors or outdoors up to 2 m³); in core zones and in areas with townscape or monument protection, outdoor units still require a permit. A noise protection certificate is always required for air/water heat pumps (Canton of Zurich).
