In the city of Basel, in Riehen and Bettingen and in the municipalities of Basel-Landschaft, we look after air conditioning systems, heat pumps and heating – from planning to maintenance, for all brands.
One focus is the replacement of electric heating: in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, according to the canton, all electric heating systems must be taken out of service by 1 January 2032 at the latest. In Basel-Stadt, there is a replacement obligation for electric heaters installed more than 25 years ago.

Rules and subsidies in Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft
Basel-Stadt subsidises air/water heat pumps that replace oil, gas or electric heating, outside the district heating area with CHF 8 000 + CHF 250 per kWth; within the district heating area the contributions are lower. In Basel-Stadt, heat pumps are partly subject to notification or a building permit.
The Baselbieter Energiepaket subsidises the replacement of fossil or direct electric heating with an air/water heat pump with CHF 5 000 + CHF 200 per kWth. In the canton of Basel-Landschaft, a notification procedure with the building inspectorate applies to small outdoor air/water heat pumps.
Air/air heat pumps are not listed as an eligible measure in the subsidy programmes of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft.

Do I have to replace my electric heating in Basel-Landschaft?
Yes. According to the canton, all electric heating systems must be taken out of service by 1 January 2032 at the latest. Exemptions are only granted on substantiated application, e.g. for temporary buildings or churches.
Is an air/air heat pump subsidised in Basel?
In the cantonal programmes of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft, the air/air heat pump is not listed as an eligible measure. Air/water and ground-source heat pumps, among others, are subsidised.
